About St. Joseph’s
Saint Joseph Monastery church in Baltimore has a glorious history of service to the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Established in 1865, the parish experienced significant growth within the next multiple decades. So, plans were developed for a larger church after the parish outgrew its church a second time. On October 2, 1932, the new church was dedicated after a year of construction began. Amazingly, the devotion and perseverance of this monumental achievement have resulted in one of the most beautiful churches in the Archdiocese.
In addition, their parish provides opportunities for children and adults to analyze their faith and strengthen their connection to God. Additionally, their religious education programs can assist young people in building a relationship with God while forming an understanding of their Catholic heritage. Mission and Beliefs
For more than 155 years, St. Joseph’s has been a spiritual oasis for those searching to deepen their relationship with the Lord from a supportive community. To this day, the parish still maintains a solid connection to Passionist spirituality, which focuses on the redemptive passion and suffering of Jesus.
Moreover, St. Joseph’s is aware that the city of Baltimore is currently facing many challenges. Because the reality is that these challenges have impacted businesses, restaurants, and even churches! With this in mind, they collaborate with other churches and institutions, such as Saint Agnes Hospital and Mount Saint Joseph High School to enhance the community’s quality of life.
