This past Saturday, May 12, 2012, Adventure Web Productions sponsored a team in the second annual Ed Reed Flag Football Tournament. The team, which played in the 16-team competitive division, won its first three games handily and made it all the way to the championship (refereed by Ed Reed, himself), only to fall to the eventual champs.

Still, all involved – including two AWP employees (Zach Moore and Bobby Lubaszewski) – loved every minute of the event, which included appearances from other Baltimore Ravens players, such as Lardarius Webb and Michael Oher (both pictured below with the AWP team).

About the Event:

The second annual Ed Reed Flag Football Tournament, held at Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, was co-sponsored by the RAACE Foundation (Race Against Abuse of Children Everywhere), an organization dedicated to raising public awareness of and helping to eliminate child sexual abuse.

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Adventure Web Productions (AWP) has great news to share! We have reached another major milestone as a full service Internet development and web marketing company. What milestone have we reached? Read now to find out.

In the last 15 years, AWP has more than tripled in size, bringing together excellence in programming and design. We now have 1,000 clients that range in size, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

But how did AWP gain the success we have today? The answer is that we have been blessed with great people and great employees.

The employees that have came in the past 15 years have helped build up a positive, energizing, productive and fun work culture.

The work culture here at AWP is work hard; play hard. We do not leave any stone unturned and this creates value for both our business and the businesses of our clients.

One thing that really distinguishes us from our competitors is that our clients are more than just clients – they are our partners.

We have seen the Internet evolve and we have learnt to adapt to these evolutions. AWP has adapted by offering products and services that have helped our clients, our partners grow with the Internet.

When interviewing Charlie Strouse, Vice President of AWP, we asked him where he and Craig Kahl, President of AWP, would like to accomplish in the future development of AWP.

Strouse stated they would like to put more people in place here at AWP and grow the company. They want to put all efforts to be the best full service Internet development and web marketing company they can be to their clients.

We also asked Strouse if he had any business advice to share about creating and maintaining a successful business. He told us the following advice:

“If you want to be successful in your business, you have to love your business. You have to love the way you run it, market it and grow it. Without that passion, nothing you do is going to bring amazing results. Love what you do. Surround yourself with great people. Create value for your clients.”

At AWP, we stand ready to help you fully unlock the full potential of the Internet. If you’re not successful, neither are we. We offer award-winning Web Development and services as mentioned in The Wall Street Journal, Baltimore Business Journal, The Daily Record, The Washington Times, CNBC, Merchant Circle, and other local and national news media.

Measuring your blog’s success

Monday, January 24th, 2011

There are a lot of great blogging hints in this article, but we’d like to focus on the first one. It’s important to measure your blog’s marketing success, because, as the old saying goes, if you’re not measuring, you’re not marketing. An important first step is making sure you know your blog’s purpose. The article mentions three different types of blogs, and each has a different measure of success.

Content blogging
This type of blogging focuses on topics and keywords that will improve the search engine rankings of the site. The ultimate goal is to drive more visitors to your Website, so you should look at your site’s traffic to measure success.

Commerce blogging
These blogs also endeavor to drive traffic to a Web site but are more squarely centered on specific products and services that will quickly convert into sales. To measure the success of these blogs, you’ll need to be able to track sales all the way back to blog posts.

Community blogging
This type of blog is a little more amorphous than the other two because it seeks to engage others in conversation and build participation. Measures aren’t as concrete, but you can look at the number of participants and their consistency in participating. The number of links to the blog from other sites can also help.

If your blog isn’t performing up to your standards or you just don’t know where to start, contact us. Our blogging and social media experts will be happy to guide you or offer our social media package to take it off your hands.

Adventure Web educates youth

Friday, December 17th, 2010

Adventure Web’s own Gina Ramsey spoke this week to approximately 250 sixth and seventh graders at Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. Gina was invited to speak at the charter school on the topic of safety and security on the Internet.

“There are so many dangers online to young people especially young women,” Gina said. “There’s no escaping the Internet, but there’s a way to be online and still be safe.”

Gina warned the students about the dangers of bullying and need to be careful about what they post online. “Once it’s out there, it never goes away, so they need to be careful about what they put out there.”

The Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women is modeled on a similar school in East Harlem, NY, that focuses on student-centered learning, collaboration, and formative assessment. The college preparatory school, which currently serves sixth and seventh grades, will eventually grow to no more than 560 students in grades six-12.
